Hello Everyone.
We had a great week last week. Our Read Around the Planet was a huge hit with Dallas Texas. The teacher emailed me the next day (with a ‘hi y’all’ !). She said she couldn’t get our song out of her head and woke up singing it
on Friday! Mrs. Gorman had Google World up on the Smartboard so we were able to zoom right in on our school and theirs. She also had some wonderful aerial photos of Kamloops. All in all – it was a very successful ‘hands across the border’ experience!
We will repeat our performance this Thursday for a school in Calgary. Thanks to everyone who
provided ears and socks. The gloves I got looked really bright and colourful. Every child was cute as a button!
We are continuing our study of Fairy Tales.
Each child has completed a beautiful Fantasy Fairy Tale Castle painting. They are up on our walls right now. In the library we are still learning about frogs.
Here is next week at a glance:
Monday – Computers in the lab.
Tuesday – Library book exchange and
gym.
Wednesday – Computers again. This is a huge hit with the kids!
Thursday – Gymnastics at the Kamloops Gymnastics Centre. Please make sure your child is dressed in stretchy clothing - no jeans, zippers or buttons. No jewelery. Stud earrings are fine but not 'danglies'. Girls with long hair should tie it back. A t-shirt and shorts, jogging pants or leggings work well. Booster seats are not required on the bus.
Friday – This is one of our favourite days because we are not scheduled in for anything. We get to have a day at our own pace.
I learned of some more links to websites at the workshop on Friday. I will post them to the
blog as soon as I receive the email.
Please feel free to call or email if you have any
questions. Cheers.
Sheila
