Language Arts:
We are just finishing our novel study of Hatchet and are ready to begin the sequel in the series. We also studied homonyms this week and completed our unit in spelling city,
Math:
This week sees the conclusion of our unit on digital and analogue time. We will begin a short study of perimeter and then move on to the second volume of Jump Math (our workbook program). There will be a new Ten Marks assignment posted this week. The kids are getting better at navigating the program and getting the assignments completed on time. They have 2 computer classes to work on the assignments where I can assist them individually.
Science:
We have begun studying body systems starting with the brain and central nervous system. They should have lots of interesting questions for the people presenting on brain injuries this week.
H.A.C.E.:
We had an excellent presentation by our RCMP school liaison officer on internet safety. The best way you can help your child stay safe is to know their passwords and regularly monitor their internet activity, especially on social network and gaming/chat sites.
