Language Arts; We are working on a special project called Monster Match. Our toughest job will be to describe our Monster, in writing, so that our partner school can recreate our Monster without looking at it. We will try to do the same. We will share and compare our results in a video conference in a couple of weeks time. We are also practicing the skill of inference or identifying details in a story that the author has not actually written in words. We have been working on identifying and correcting run-on sentences and sentence fragments. After some challenges we are now up and running on spelling city. This is an on-line program where your child can log in to their account and practice spelling at home. TESTS MUST BE COMPLETED AT SCHOOL :)
Math: Each grade in working on the prescribed learning outcomes for place value. We have just finished a unit on patterning and beginning algebra. We have had many fun lessons on the smart board.
Science: We have completed an experiment and are learning to record our experiment in standard scientific lab format.
Socials: We are continuing to work on our mapping unit.
P.E: is taught by Mrs. Rasmussen.
Fine Arts: We have completed 3 projects - a collage of nutritious food, a symmetrical design sheet and creating a greeting card for our school's PAC as a fundraiser.
Please sign up for an interview. I really want to meet with all of you. Cheers. S. Stokes
